AFC HS Boys Win Hingham Indoor League Title

Picture
Last Thursday the AFC HS Boys team won the Hingham Indoor League championship after a 7-2 victory. The team played one of their best games of the season, wearing down the opponents with their possession game, and getting goals from many different players. AFC opened the scoring with 3 straight, before allowing a goal right before the half. AFC gave up a second goal early in the second half, but responded with 4 straight. The team finished the indoor season with only one loss.

AFC U12 United girls go pink for ‘Hope is Beautiful’

Picture
AFC's U12 girls team decorated pink tee-shirts and have been sporting them in support of 'Hope is Beautiful,” a charity to raise awareness on pediatric cancer.  'Hope is Beautiful' was created by Jacqueline “Jacqui” Desai, cousin of U12 player Isabel Murphy, who was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic osteosarcoma. All proceeds are donated to the Children's Hospital in Boston.

AFC United U12 girls, boys teams take
top spots at Winchester Tournament

The AFC United Boys and Girls U12 teams took the top spot in their respective divisions at the Winchester Veteran’s Day Tournament. The Boys U12 team went undefeated winning all four of their matches. The Girls U12 team also won their division posting a 3-0-1 record while only allowing 1 goal against. Congratulations to the rest of the AFC teams who participated in the tournament: U9 Boys, U9 Girls, U10 Boys, U11 Girls, and U14 boys.

AFC Training get Revamped
AFC has been working on perfecting its training over the last 4 years, and simplifying its approach. We have divided the the training into three categories, broken down by age. The Academy arm will focus on training players from the U8 Foundations all the way through U12 age group. This is a different approach than the traditional club model which focuses on the older age groups. We feel that by developing them at a young age they will have better skills to then compete when they are U14s and older.
