TEAM DETAILS:
Trains: Winter and Spring. Summer is highly encouraged but optional.
In-season training: There is only one outdoor season in Spring. While in season, training is Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays. During the week, practice typically starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. On weekends practice typically runs from 9 to 11 a.m. Street Soccer, which is offered on Friday nights is optional but recommended. This day can also be used as a makeup day for a missed training session. Most high-school age players attend Street Soccer. Out-of-season training: During the winter, AFC players train indoors twice a week. They typically train 1.5 to 2 hours per session and may also play an indoor session or two at South Shore Sports Center in Hingham. Tournaments: Will play in a preseason tournament in March and either the Cape Cod Classic or the Cape Cod Challenge during the Memorial Day weekend. The MASC team will also play in the MASC friendship tournament in early June. Will play considerable friendly matches throughout their season and AFC fields one U16 team to play in the very competitive Inner-City Boston Summer League. |
