America FC United U18 boys player James O'shea has been selected to the Region 1 team. Being selected is a huge honor as the tryout process is extremely competitive. Region 1 consists of 13 states and is 1 of 4 regions in the United States. Recognized during the region 1 tournament, James, was one of the one hundred and eighty players (180) from 13 states selected to come train and tryout to make the Region 1 team. Out of the 180 players only thirty-three (33) players were selected for the final cut. Our James O'Shea was selected to the final 33, and was one of three (3) players from the state of Massachusetts to make the cut.  He is now a part of the region 1 pool and will be called upon to represent our region during regional and national competitions next year.  James has worked tirelessly and has been extremely dedicated to improving his game and we have no doubt he will represent himself, and the club to highest extent possible at these events. Congratulations to James from all of us here at AFC United.

These players tried out and were selected as one of the 24 members of the Massachusetts boys U17/U14 teams. AFC U12 Girls
AFC brought 8 teams to the 2013 Cape Cod Challenge, and out of the 6 teams eligible to make the playoffs, 4 advanced to the playoff round(U12G, U12B, U14B, U16B). The U12G and U14B both were able to reach the championship game, but were edged out in heart breaking fashion in both games. AFC's two U10 teams (U10B and U10G) for whom there are no playoffs, both did very well, with the Boys going 2-2 and the Girls 2-1-1 in the Open A division. While the wins were nice to see at the younger ages, what impressed the coaches and parents the most were the many moves, feints, and skilled play that AFC focuses heavily on. To see examples/fun from the weekend check out our team pages under the Academy tab for photos and videos from the Cape Challenge and 2013 season.
